Bobby Garcia's Eulogy By Christine Henson On Behalf Of The Palmetto State Ford Club

Click Here To See A Tribute Video To Our Fallen Club Member Bobby Garcia

When the mind is reeling from the suddenness of the death of a loved one, and the hurt is unbearable, it is near impossible to see any redeeming value in the loss.  These moments of deep indescribable pain have been with man since the beginning of time.  Yet, even in the midst of sorrow, there is hope … indisputable hope based in Holy Scripture.  A sorrowing heart often cannot see beyond the pain of the moment.  But God does not deal just in the present; he deals with eternity.  Death becomes the passage to new life, a perfect life with Jesus Christ, Our Savior.

Although it is with a heavy heart that I stand here before you today, I feel honored that I was asked to do so.  I am not only speaking for myself, but also on behalf of every member of the Palmetto State Ford Club Family.

Bobby came into our lives a couple of years ago when his brother David joined our club.  I think from the moment all of us met him we knew he was going to become part of our family.  We didn’t care if he owned a Ford or not!  His contagious smile and playful sense of humor won our hearts over quickly.  His infectious laughter turned even the worst of moods around.  His funny stories and lighthearted teasing kept each of us coming back for more.

Bobby was a devout car enthusiast.  He used his hobby to support so many of us in the local car community.  He was the first to register at our events, usually bringing out multiple show cars.   We loved to see his Doomsday themed Corvette and always got a thrill when he cranked up Knight Rider and had KITT talking to us.  He was so proud and excited to introduce his Smoky and the Bandit car recently.

Even though his passing has shaken each of us to our core, we can’t help but to remember the good times and the loyal friendship he gave us while he was here.  On my club’s online forum, a member wrote something that seemed so fitting, so Bobby, and I think when each one of us read it we smiled and agreed.  This is what was written:

“Bobby is up there in heaven racing Superman with Doomsday, beating him too I am sure.  He has now become just like Doomsday in that his physical form may not be here anymore, but he’ll never truly die as we will always keep him in our hearts.”

Bobby, you will never be forgotten.   From this day forward, at each club event, the best parking space will be marked off and memorialized in your honor.  We will continue to cherish your memory in our hearts and look after the loved ones you have left behind.  We will find comfort in our fond memories of you and maybe even let a Chevy beat us once in a while.

Be at peace our friend, we love and miss you dearly.

Bobby Garcia's Eulogy By Patrick Shockley On Behalf Of Khaotik Illusions Club
First I would like to extend my condolensences to Bobby’s family, and David and Brina, your family to us, you know anything you need we’re here. Bobby was not only a member of our Khaotik Illusions family, but a very close friend of mine, and one amazing person. I spent a lot of time with Bobby at car shows and doing many other things and it never got old. He was the kind of friend you wanted to be around, the kind you always had fun with no matter what you were doing. The kind of friend that doesn’t come around often and the kind of friend you never want to loose.

Bobby never met a stranger; he brightened the lives of everyone he came in contact with, with his great sense of humor and a witty personality. He always had something to say, he always had a smile on his face, and always kept us laughing. To know him was to love him. Bobby loved the car show scene and was known, loved and respected by everyone in it. There was very rarely a show he and “Doomsday” didn’t attend and he will be greatly missed by many people. Car shows without him, will never be the same. But we will continue to do what we love to do, what he loved to do, with memories of him in our hearts. We will all remember Bobby and miss him for the rest of our lives. But we can be comforted by the fact that we will all be together again one day.

BOBBY- all I can say is thank you, I was lucky to have you as my friend, and until we meet again farewell brother, I will miss you.

Patrick Shockley
Vice President - Khaotik Illusion

We Would Like To Pass Along Our Kindest, Heartfelt, Sympathy To The Family Of Our Fallen Member Bobby Garcia. He Was A Dedicated Member Of The Palmetto State Ford Club And Will Be Deeply Missed. He Touched Us All With His Spirit. God Bless...
I imagine that most of you have heard about Bobby Garcia by now but for those that have not, I'm sorry to tell you on this website. It is with a very heavy heart that I tell you this, he passed away Tuesday, June 17th.

To the best of my knowledge, his death was caused by insect venom.  This venom caused severe damage to his heart, respiratory system, kidneys, liver and brain. Bobby quickly became non-responsive and fell into a coma. He passed away shortly after we found out he had no brain activity.

Bobby was loved by many of us and I can say, without a doubt, that no future car event will feel the same without him. He supported all of us in the car community by attending our events time and time again. No one could miss that yellow corvette of his when it pulled up - a lot of love went into that car! We loved seeing his Knight Rider car, especially when he'd turn it on for us ... who doesn't love K.I.T.T. right? The recent unveiling of his Smoky and the Bandit car was very cool as well.

He was the ultimate jokester, always ready to make you laugh.  He was a wonderful friend, always there when you needed a helping hand. He was a loyal car enthusiast, spending most of his free time attending car events and helping to raise money for charities. He was a beloved brother to David, a husband to wife Brina and friend to us.

Here is information concerning his funeral arrangements:

His viewing will be this Friday night from 6pm-8pm at J Henry Stuhrs Northwoods Chapel.
The address is 2180 Greenridge Rd, North Charleston, 29406.
The phone number is (843)-723-2524.

His funeral will be this Saturday at 10am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Goose Creek.
The address is 510 Saint James Ave, Goose Creek, 29445.
The phone number is (843) 553-1386.

Immediately following the funeral there will be a police escort to the Carolina Memorial Gardens in North Charleston.
The address is 7113 Rivers Ave, Charleston, 29406.
The phone number is (843) 553-2228.

Bobby was a member of my club. We always joked with him because he joined even though he didn't have a Ford. What a wonderful sense of humor he had! Regardless of this fact, he was an incredible, loyal member. He is our first fallen member and we are devastated by his death. Our PSFC family will be meeting next week to discuss an event to be done in his honor.

As you can imagine, his family is absolutely overwhelmed right now. Several of us are helping them by getting the word out. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at skarlet2005@yahoo.com. Also, please spread the word to those that you know would want to attend his viewing/funeral services.  I would much rather someone be told a couple of times by different people than to be missed.

Please keep Bobby and his family in your prayers,
Christine Henson

PSFC Movie Quote Of The Month: From "The BreakfastClub" 1985
Brian Johnson: Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. But we think you're crazy to make an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain...

Andrew Clark: ...and an athlete...

Allison Reynolds: ...and a basket case...

Claire Standish: ...a princess...

John Bender: ...and a criminal...

Brian Johnson: Does that answer your question?... Sincerely yours, the Breakfast Club.

We Were Rained On But Still Had A Great Time. McAlister's Deli Of North Charleston & The Palmetto State Ford Club Had The 2nd Cruise In Of The Year. It was held April 5th From 5:00pm - 8:00pm.
Well The bad weather was no help this month, But even with the heavy rain & thunderstorms we still had 60 plus people attend our cruise in. A good time was still had by all. The trivia was a blast, Well done everyone. The PSFC's monthly Cruise In's are held as rain or shine events, Because we are able to have it inside or outside. So next month if it looks like rain you can still come, just drive your family or beater car. We had and excellent time inside the restaurant.

Our Cruise In's are free and are just about hanging out and socializing. Not to mention the great food and hospitality of the store manager Ben and his excellent staff at McAlister's Deli at Tanger Outlet Mall.  I would also like to recognize the continued support of our friends with Khaotik Illusions, Low Country Mustang Club, The Coastal Carolina Corvette Club and even Matt & Tim from SMAF attended as well. We hope to see everyone next month with much better weather.

Thanks Everyone for your support,

Kevin Felty
PSFC Membership Officer
